Cinematographer/ Photographer
We are looking for a talented cinematographer who has experience in both photography and video production. The ideal candidate should be able to work well with the Orange VFX team, have excellent technical skills, and be creative in capturing stunning visuals. They must also possess strong communication skills as they must collaborate with other crew members on set. This position requires someone who can think quickly on their feet while still producing high-quality results under tight deadlines. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a cinematographer, or director of photography, you are responsible for the visual aspects of video production. You will work closely with the director and the film crew, helping to create appropriate visual effects and implement visual storytelling. As a cinematographer, you have responsibility over many important aspects, including:
- Selecting camera angles and shots
- Developing visualization of scenes along with the director
- Overseeing the photography crew
- Ensuring the visual consistency of every shot
- Reviewing the rushes (raw footage) with the director and flagging any unusable shots
You will double as a photographer and can either work independently or be part of a team depending on the project’s requirements. Your duties typically include:
- Setting up and operating photographic equipment to capture high-quality images
- Selecting and setting up locations
- Working with clients to discuss the images they require
- Enhancing images with digital imaging software
- Archive and manage images after shoots
It’s important to note that while both roles utilize a camera and have an eye for capturing visuals, you must adapt to different contexts and responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A portfolio demonstrating creative and technical abilities of photographic equipment, camera operation, different types of lenses, angling, and lighting setups
- Proficiency with relevant software such as Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Lightroom
- Strong Creativity and Visual design sense with an eye for detail, color, composition, and lighting
- Problem-solving skills to come up with innovative solutions under time and budget constraints
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership and Team Management to leads a camera crew
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
