THE ORANGE SEED INITIATIVE
About 70% of Nigeria’s 206 million people are under 30. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the Nigerian unemployment rate was 33% in 2022. According to KPMG, it will exceed 40% in 2023. The lack of job opportunities is at the core of the high poverty levels. Overpopulation, regional and gender inequality, poor standard of education, poor leadership, and social and political unrest make the situation more problematic.
In 2022, the global animation market revenue was estimated to be over $391 billion, VFX was $48.9 billion, and the gaming industry was at least $184.4 billion. Developing animation, game and VFX skills will help tackle some of these problems. Africans should work in animation, including the potential for economic growth, job opportunities, and cultural representation. The animation industry is rapidly growing worldwide, and Africans can contribute. African animation can help showcase the diverse cultures and traditions of the continent to the rest of the world. Hence the Orange Seed Program was launched in 2021 to provide professional creative education and fulfilling career opportunities for Africans.
The mission of our Seed Program is to educate and empower 10,000 next-generation African digital content creators delivering world-class content for a global audience! We provide aspiring animators with the knowledge, skills, and professional network needed to launch successful careers in the competitive field of animation, games, visual effects, motion graphics and more.

The Seed Program is a leading provider of creative industry education, focusing on animation, visual effects, game art, and motion graphics. The school, located in metropolitan Lagos, Nigeria, offers a range of programs, from short courses to diplomas, designed to equip students with the technical skills and industry knowledge necessary to succeed in the competitive world of visual effects, animation, games, motion design and more. The school comprises experienced industry professionals who bring their expertise and insider knowledge to the classroom. The school has partnered with leading industry names such as NYSC SAED and Imose, providing students with networking opportunities, internships, and employment. Seed is dedicated to providing high-quality education that prepares graduates for successful careers in the creative industries.
We aspire to bridge the knowledge and skill gap in digital content creation whilst building team spirit, confidence and the right attitude amongst youth. At the end of the program, students will get an opportunity to connect with industry professionals, create a portfolio/reel, get merit-based industry placement, earn in dollars via Fiverr accounts that we’ll set up for them and will gain up to 3 months of free mentorship. We want to help young people succeed in making Africa better!
